An important and rare late 17th century ebony veneered and gilt mounted bracket clock by this famous and great clockmaker.
The three train chain drive quarter striking movement with verge escapement, quarter striking on 6 bells and rise/fall regulation. The dial beautifully laid out with a subsidiary dial to the four corners for strike/silent, regulation and lock pendulum, all set within engraving and particularly fine spandrels.
The silvered chapter ring signed, Dan Quare, London, and repeated to the finely engraved backplate.
