An extremely fine and rare late 17th century William III quarter repeating marquetry bracket clock by this eminent maker, the case with delicate marquetry decoration which is continued to the door when opened and to the dial mask. The dial with date aperture, strike/silent and fine hands, the movement with verge escapement and outside countwheel striking, the clock striking the hour and repeating quarters on a smaller bell. The engraved backplate signed, Jonathan Lowndes, in Pall Mall
